What does subtotal of non -taxable services (including any VAT adjustment) mean?
The sum of your charges of non-taxable items, such as International Roaming services and Roaming Add-ons, will not be part of the net current charges which are taxable. This will also include any VAT related adjustments from the previous month(s).
Does VAT apply on plans where a new device/handset is an included benefit?
Yes, for plans with included handset benefits, VAT is applicable on the monthly recurring charge of the plan and the additional usage thereof. VAT also applies on any associated down-payment if any.
Does VAT apply on the purchase of a new device/handset with the device instalment offer?
In the case of purchases made on our device instalment offer, VAT is applicable on the monthly instalment amount and any additional services such as extended warranty, insurance etc. VAT also applies to any associated down-payment made against the device/handset.
Does VAT apply on new services that are subscribed to during 2019?
Yes, VAT is applicable on all services subscribed to during 2019 onwards. VAT does not apply to International Roaming Services and Roaming Add-ons.
Is it possible to pay my stc bills without paying VAT?
No, it is mandatory to pay the VAT related to your bill as per the VAT regulation
Does VAT apply on any activation, termination fees, etc.?
Yes, VAT is applicable on any billed transactions.
Will VAT apply if I purchase a new SIM after January 1, 2019?
Yes, when purchasing a new SIM card, VAT will be added to the price of the new SIM card.
As a business customer do I need to share my Tax Identification number (TIN) and certificate with stc?
As per the law, it is not mandatory to share your Tax Identification Number (TIN) with stc.
How will VAT be reflected on my bill?
VAT is applicable on the current month charges and will be reflected on your bill as a separate line item in the account summary.
Does VAT apply on my stc service?
In line with Kingdom of Bahrain Government mandate, starting January 1, 2019, VAT at 5% will be charged to your monthly bill on all goods and services apart from International Roaming services and Roaming Add-ons.
What is stc’s Tax Identification Number?

How can a business register for VAT and receive a Tax Identification Number (“TIN”)?
For reference, businesses can register for VAT through the NBT Website https://www.nbt.gov.bh/
Is it compulsory to pay VAT?
As per the VAT regulation, it is mandatory for all businesses exceeding certain turnover thresholds to register for VAT and consequently charge VAT on all goods and services offered. stc is one of the business required to register for VAT and must start charging VAT from 1 January 2019VAT-registered businesses must report to the National Bureau for Taxation all the amounts of VAT they have charged and the amount of VAT they have incurred on a regular basis. How will VAT apply to stc products and services?
A 5% VAT will be added to the postpaid bills upon issuance of the bill.
What will be the applicable VAT rates?
VAT has been introduced in the Kingdom of Bahrain on the 1st of January 2019 at the Standard Rate of 5% unless the VAT legislation specifically provides that such supplies are Zero-rated, Exempt or outside the scope of VAT.All the Telecommunication goods and services fall within the Standard VAT rate of 5%.

What is VAT?
VAT is a consumption tax that the end user is obligated to pay, and stc will only be acting as a collection Agent on behalf of the Government.VAT is required by the regulation to be charged by businesses that are registered for VAT in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In general, the supplies of goods and services are taxable at the Standard Rate of 5% throughout the supply chain, unless the VAT legislation specifically provides that such supplies are Zero-rated or Exempt.Both individual and business customers will be required to pay VAT on goods and services purchased from stc.
What will be the experience when the customer has a Global add-on with no data allowance remaining while the add-on validity is not yet expired?
Data access will be blocked except in GCC countries where access to data under this add-on is unlimited until the validity is expired. The customer will be notified to purchase another data add-on in Global countries.
What will be the experience when the customer still has remaining data quota and is roaming in non-Global country?
Data access will be blocked, and SMS notification will be sent to the customer offering an option to move to normal roaming rates in non-Global countries. If customer goes back to the Global country before the validity ends, they will still be able to enjoy the add-on.
What will be the experience when customer still has data quota remaining and is roaming in a Global country, but connecting to a non-Global network?
Data access will be blocked as soon as customer tries to access data and SMS notification will be sent notifying customer to latch to participating Global network in the respective country to enjoy benefits.
What will be the experience when the add-on validity expires?
Data roaming access (only) will be blocked automatically, any voice usage will be charged with normal roaming rates. Customer will be notified via SMS and will have an option to either unblock data and being charged as normal roaming rates, or subscribe to a new roaming add-on.
When will the free calls be applicable for GCC add-ons?
Customer will be able to make and receive calls within GCC, while roaming in GCC until the validity is expired.
When can you use the Global data add-on on the airplane?
The cabin crew will make an announcement to let the customer know when to turn the phone on and use the service. The AeroMobile network becomes available when the aircraft has reached 6000 meters above the ground. The network is available throughout the cruise phase of the flight but phones must be switched off for take-off and landing.
Can customers subscribe to more than one data roaming add-on at the same time?
Yes, Each roaming add-on will have its own data allowance and validity.
For Global Data Add-ons, when can a customer unblock data roaming access?
A customer can resume data roaming access when the data allowance is fully consumed before the add-on validity is expired. This can be done by sending SMS with text “UBLK’’ to 81871 and in this case, the customer shall be charged as per normal data roaming rates.
How can a customer unblock data roaming access after data allowance is fully consumed?
Send SMS with a text ‘UBLK’ to 81871.
What will be the experience if a customer has more than one active Global Data add-on at the same time?
Each roaming add-on has its own data allowance and validity. The add-ons shall be consumed in the same sequence as purchased.
Are these data roaming add-ons auto-renewed?
No. You will have to re-subscribe to the roaming add-ons once the validity is expired.
What will happen if the customer is not connected to any of the participating networks while using the data roaming add-ons?
The data access will be blocked.

What are the available roaming packages?
You may refer to our Business roaming Add-on packages website for the available roaming add-ons. Upon subscription, please wait for the add-on confirmation SMS before re-initiating the add-on request or enabling the data access.
How does roaming abroad work?
When you reach your destination country just switch on your mobile phone and an operator shall be selected automatically.If no operator is found, please check the configuration in your mobile phone under network settings. It might have been set to 'manual' network selection mode. Switch it to 'automatic' network selection mode and it should find a roaming network for you.
What services can you use while roaming with stc abroad?
- Make and receive voice calls - local and international- Send and receive SMS messages- Check e-mails, read news, browse content, send and receive MMS and more using data roaming- Divert calls to any other number- Use stc Missed Call Notification Plus service

Does stc Protect cover devices against theft and burglary
In the event of burglary or theft, the insurance company will replace the device with the same model, and you can only submit one request for the duration of the policy’s validity. The policy expires after two repairs or one replacement.
What is replace and replacement policy in stc Protect
The monthly cost depends on whether you have a simple or high-tech business device insurance package. In the event that the device is exposed to accidental damage, it shall be repaired or replaced, as the coverage includes two repairs and one replacement, or a repair process followed by one replacement.
What types of insurance coverage are included in the stc device protection program?
Stc's device protection program provides two types of coverage:• Basic coverage for damages to the device’s screen only - it covers damages that may occur to the phone with anyone at all times. The basic coverage includes damage to the screen such as breakage, in addition to any other damages caused by that.• Complete device insurance coverage, including burglary and theft insurance.

Yes, stc Business Customers can enjoy the eSIM experience free of charge on eSIM Enabled iphone devices
Do the Business Plans provide international and roaming service?
Yes, by default those services are enabled on all business plans. However, you have the option to raise a request to block any of these services per subscriber level.
What will happen to the GBs or minutes that I didn't use?
Benefits will be lost and will not be carried forward to the next month.
Are the business plan benefits pro rata or full?
They are pro rata, based on when you purchase the plan.
Is the Data Bundle really Unlimited?
Yes, you will have Unlimited data on selected plans for specific plans. Upon crossing your data allowance, your speed will be throttled, however you will continue to have access to data at lower speed, but you will still be able to send and receive emails, use WhatsApp, that will enable you to contact your customers and colleagues.
Can I upgrade / downgrade my business plan?
You can upgrade at any time during your contract period without penalty. However, in the case of downgrades, switching fees will apply.
Can I terminate any of my business lines?
Yes, but please note this plan has a minimum 12-month contract. Therefore, you’ll be charged a termination fee as stated in the application form.
Do I have to sign up for a minimum contract period for a Business Postpaid mobile plan?
Yes, Business Mobile Plans have a minimum 12-month contract.
How many lines can I buy?
There is no restriction on number of lines you can buy as long as the total monthly recurring charge is within the credit limits.

Once a client, am I guaranteed 24x7 access to the facility or access is restricted to certain hours?
For each customer, 24x7 access is guaranteed for 2 nominated persons. Appropriate ID cards will be issued, by stc Bahrain, for those 2 authorized persons. Access for non-authorized persons, requires pre-approved access permit.
