With the finer complexities of this technology navigated, stc have introduced a smart camera and advanced sensor at every gate which not only detects the type of vehicle intending to cross (i.e. car, motorcycle, small bus, bus and pick up truck) but reads the license plate, too. Crossing the King Fahd Causeway: How It Works (Step by Step)

1. When a vehicle approaches the toll gate, an advanced sensor automatically detects the vehicle type
2. Next, a smart camera automatically reads and processes the vehicle’s license plate
3. The driver pays via their chosen method (as detailed below) and passes seamlessly through the toll gate

For an expedited journey and unparalleled experience, stc recommends that the driver downloads the Jesr Pay app from the App Store. Bilingual in both Arabic and English, the Jesr Pay app is designed for ultimate efficiency and ease with expected crossing times and weather conditions on the King Fahd Causeway, as well as a retail directory, general news and contact information for roadside assistance.

After downloading, drivers can create their profile, register their vehicle(s) and top up the Jesr Pay wallet via credit/debit card or Apple Pay.
